NGO DEVELOPMENT

Introduction

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to run an NGO? Our internship provides valuable experience that can be used to launch a career in nonprofit work or simply to gain skills that will help you succeed in the nonprofit world. We are a non-governmental organization that seeks to carry out technology projects with a positive, sustainable and innovative impact in all sectors of society. These sectors include digital rights, access to information, sustainable development, human rights, cyberpolitics, women and technology, and youth online.

Our established internship program encourages a series of initiatives and projects to foster impactful and sustainable social development of the population through technology. The entirety of the program will give you the opportunity to put the skills you’ve been learning in the classroom into practice, as well as introduce you to team-building and problem-solving skills.
As you’ll only be asked to work for around 18 hours a week, you’ll have plenty of time to make the most of your overseas trip.

Daily Life

Your internship will be based at the host organizations offices in Accra and Agona Swedru. You’ll get to undertake some remote work and have the possibility of attending technology-related events in the capital city itself (depending on time of visit and the local events calendar). With a relatively short working week (about 18 hours) under the direction of an English-speaking coordinator, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the culture of this large and exciting Ghana.

The program is designed to fit around you, to best take advantage of your owns skills and interests, as well as the skills you’d like to develop further. A weekly or monthly agenda is agreed depending on your and the NGO needs, and your progress is evaluated at weekly mentoring and coaching sessions.

Here are just some of the things you might find yourself doing:
